Abu Simbel is about 870 km south of Cairo and no nonstop flight between the two is confirmed, so this tour flies you to Aswan and drives the rest. The listing plans it like this: hotel pickup and about 45 minutes to the airport, a flight of about 2 hours to Aswan, then a private car or van about 3 hours south to the temples. After the guided visit you drive back to Aswan, fly to Cairo, and a driver takes you from the airport to your hotel. Count on 14 hours and an early start.
The entry ticket is included as the Abu Simbel entry fee. For reference, the ticket costs EGP 822 for foreign adults and EGP 445.5 for students up to 24 with ID on the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities' official ticket site (2026), and one ticket covers both temples. The guide is private and travels with you from Aswan. Guides usually brief you outside the temples; inside the halls you explore on your own. Bottled water in the car and a late lunch at a local restaurant are included; drinks with lunch and tips are not. Send a copy of your passport to the local partner no later than 2 days before the tour, and carry the passport on the day. Pickup from Cairo airport, Sphinx airport, New Cairo, Heliopolis, Sheikh Zayed City, the New Administrative Capital and several other outer districts costs extra.
The flights are the weak point. Two domestic legs and about six hours on the road leave little slack, and one guest warns that a delayed plane shortens the visit, or can put it at risk. Domestic schedules change at short notice. Book a day with nothing else fixed around it and keep the evening free in case the return flight runs late. On the road south, tourist vehicles pass security checkpoints and travel in daylight; the old police convoy is gone.
