Abu Simbel is about 280 to 300 km south of Aswan, roughly 3.5 hours each way by road. The old police convoy is gone, but tourist vehicles still pass security checkpoints and travel in daylight. The entry ticket is included in the price: EGP 822 per foreign adult on the official ticket site in 2026, EGP 1,272 on 22 February and 22 October, one ticket for both temples. Plan on about 2 hours there. Guides usually brief you outside; inside the temples you explore on your own.
Back near Aswan, the tour stops at a Nubian village, described in the listing as about a century old, with colourful houses, local crafts and Nubian customs. Lunch is included.
